Project Conclusion
Some examples of mass-spring systems in everyday life are the shock-absorbers in a car or the springs in a mattress. It's important to understand the amplitude, period and frequencies of these systems because otherwise they would not function efficiently! Imagine going over a small bump in the road and having to pay for the damages because our vehicles were not able to absorb the impact - or having to sleep on hard mattresses because they could not support our weight. This project has changed the way I think about how trigonometry can be applied in the real world because without the concepts of trigonometry, our understanding of even the simplest of things, like how springs function; or even larger things like how the world functions around us, would be so much less and our living standards would indeed plummet.
